Window Santa

Hi everyone, happy Sunday! Today I created a project for Art Impressions challenge Cards to die for. Join the fun HERE.

So I used a few new Art Impressions items. The first is the Tropical Christmas set  which is super fun and has warm weather holiday imagery! The second was the new Snowflake dies these are cute little detailed snowflakes that will be a great addition to my die collection. On to the card....

I started by cutting a window from a Diamond Die set. I traced the two lower openings to cut my card base. I then traced another white piece of paper to stamp my image on. I only wanted Santa's face to show. I colored him in Copic markers, and stamped the sentiment in the set in Lady Bug Memento ink. I added a scrap piece of paper from my ever growing pile to the front cutting the spaces to show the inside of the card. I added a white piece to look like a shade to the top of the window.  I then cut some branches with the Darice branch and cut them up to put in the planter box. I added some red foiled paper dots and the snowflakes for a seasonal touch! I used the Craftin Desert Diva's Flag Banner dies  and the sentiment from AI Jingle set to finish this fun card off!  You would never know Santa is in flip flops until you opened the card!  Thanks for visiting!

You're Fin-tastic

Hello! So I made this card for the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons Linky Party. You can join the fun HERE.

I Used the PPPR Center Step Card file and cut it out with my Circuit Explore. I then Cut out the Blue Whale file but eliminated a few pieces to simplify it. So I gathered my pieces and started preparing them. I started by embossing the center panel with the Lifestyle Crafts waves embossing folder. I then  die cut waves with Craftin Desert Diva's Outdoor Landscape dies
I stamped my front banner with Your Next Stamp Fishy Fun stamp set and the side panels with Design by Ryn Water Effects 1. I added a little Copic color to the bottom belly go the whale and glued the piece together and added a goggly eye. I glued everything in place and popped my whale up on a dimentional! I hope you found this whaley fun!

Pumpkin Patch

Hi everyone!! I'm Janet designing for the Craftin Desert Diva's, and we have new Linky Party at Crafin Desert Diva's Facebook page. This party theme is called Down on the Farm. I used the Pumpkin Patch Scarecrow digi stamp to create my card. I started by uploading the stamp into Cricut Design Space. I then created a rectangle 4"x6" and placed my scarecrow onto it at 2.5". I added a few extra pumpkins and cut the panel out with some loose pumpkins.     I then started coloring using my Copics. I used B01, B04 and B06 for this overalls and R22 and R24 for his shirt. E21 and E00 for his face. YR12, YR16 G94 and G99 for the pumpkins. W5 for the hat and gloves. E23,E57, E37 and E13 for the wood sign. I colored the ground with E37. Y11 and Y18 for the flower.  Once this was complete I decided to make him look like he was standing in front of a corn field. This is where I got brave and just went for it. I used G94, G24, G21 for the corn stalks and Y18 and Y13 for the corn. I added the blue sky with B01 and B0000. I didn't have a plan just and idea of what I thought it would look like and I'm happy with the results!  Some times you just have to go for it and remember it's only paper you can always start again!!   Here is the final card. I hope this inspires you to play!   This is a close up I added some Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen and Glossy Accents to the eyes and White gel pen to the pumpkins, sign and pocket. I popped up two pumpkins right in front to give the illusion of depth.

Run Mummy....

Made for the Kenny K Club Facebook Page challenge. I used Kenny K's Mad Mummy image. I colored all the pieces with Copics in C4 C3 and C1. I cut and layered his hand with dimentionals and pop it though this die called Peek-a-Boo die by Pretty Pink Posh. I cut another base layer in a purple shimmer paper and stamped the Boo, Happy Halloween and Bats in Versafine Black ink. I made my own pop up piece by cutting two lines with an exacto knife 1/2" and pushing it forward to bend forward when the card closes. I think this turned out super fun!

Gotta Wear Shades

I couldn't help myself I saw the neon and went for it!! Today I'm using Craftin Desert Diva's stamp set called Gotta Wear Shades. It has these adorable bears hanging out in the sun and the cutest sentiments! So I start this card by cutting a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper using my Fancy Frames die the biggest in the set. I then use Distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade to watercolor my background. I put this aside to dry and stamp my image using Ranger Jet Black ink. I then watercolor my images using Stabilo Pens and a small brush. Once this is finished I fussy cut the image which I didn't realize but Craftin Desert Diva's sells the SVG for this and I would recommend if you have a cutting machine. (I did go and buy it after this project!)

So I checked my base panel to make sure it was dry and stamped the Wishing you from the Wishful Thoughts stamp set and A splashing good time from Gotta Wear Shades. Added foam tape to the back of my image and placed that down and finished this off with some black dots using a jelly roll pen and sequins from a few different CDD mixes! I hope this brightens your day!! Happy Craftin!

Elegant Winter Card

I know it's still hot outside but I couldn't resit these adorable deer from the Avery Elle Set Kitsch Christmas.

I started with my card base. I cut an 8.5"x11" sheet of white card stock in half, and scored at 5.5" to make a A2 sized card.

I then stenciled the background with Memory Box Winter Scatter Flakes with Distress ink in Tumbled Glass.

I'm almost ready to assemble, I cut a snow border for the bottom portion of my cards using My Favortie Things Surf and Turf slider die set. I stamp my sentiments the Merry Christmas is a Jillibean set called Christmas Cheer and the Happy Holidays is from an old set I don't have the name for. (sorry) I use Memento Summer Sky  to compliment the Tumbled Glass ink from the background.

I simply lay out my pieces and add a bit of Tombo mono glue to put everything in place. For my final touch I add small dots with my Start Dust glitter pen.  I hope you like my clean and simple design making these adorable deer pop off the page!

Vintage Easel Card

So I started this project by printing this beautiful stamp by Lily of the Valley called Edwardian Christmas.  I printed this on vellum and colored her with Copic markers. R59 for her hat, W5 dress, E13 face, C5 for the muff, E57 hair and G99 for the green areas.  You want to flip over the image and color the back of the vellum. Color quickly and don't go over a colored area because it will cause streaks.

Once I finished coloring I cut a white panel with My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched dies. I line up the vellum panel with the white piece and stitch them together using my sewing machine. I then cut my front panel for my card which is 4"x5.5" and adhere it to the card base.  I add a matching 1.5" strip to the inside bottom so they line up when the easel is up.

I cut the smallest rectangle from the Wonky Stitched set and stamp Have a Jolly Christmas from Woodware Craft in Memento London Fog grey ink.  I added a bit of foam tape to pop it up and place on the bottom inside of my card. This holds the front panel in place.

After I cut six Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia's in the smallest size and three Pine Needles to decorate my card.  I tape the pine needles to the back of my image panel and once all those are in place I take the second white stitched panel and glue them together. This creates a nice clean white back for when the easel is up. I then glue two poinsettia flowers together with a little Tombo Mono glue and place a The Paper Studio gold glitter gemstone in the middles. I then pinch the petals together to add interest.

I glue the flowers in place and that finishes the card!! I hope you like it. Happy crafting!

So Blessed

Thanks for visiting today for a beautiful card that is fun and easy to make! I started by cutting my panel with Craftin Desert Diva's Crazy Stitched Frames, the largest one in the set. I then took Wild Honey Distress ink and with my blending tool added the ink around the edges. Since Distress ink stays wet a bit longer I added Perfect Pearls in gold with a soft brush.

This is a close up of the shine the Perfect Pearls gives. I then cut out a window using Craftin Desert Diva's Fancy Frames, the second largest in the set.

I put this piece aside and started working on my flowers.

I uploaded the SVG files for the Flowers in Bloom stamp set , and cut them out with my Cricut machine. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used Copic markers in Y13 and Y17 for the flowers and G24 and G21 for the leaves. Simple coloring and blending.

I put these aside and started on my base layer.

For my card base I cut a piece of white paper to be 4.25" X 11" and folded in half making a top folding card. I used Crafting Desert Diva's Tiny Sentiments for the I am & To Have You words. I then glued a piece of fun foam to black card stock and cut out the Blessed from Craftin Desert Diva's Greeting Word Dies. Once this is all set I'm ready to put my card together!

I layered my flowers to be behind the frame and on top. I used some thin 3D foam tape to raise a few off the frame. I only wanted to cover the left side of the frame. I added Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen to the flowers and Liquid Pearls in gold to the centers of the flowers.

This is the final card! It could be done in so many colors and so many different sentiments. I hope this inspires you to make something awesome!

Spring Just Married Card

Today's card starts on Cricut Design space. This is from the Classically Modern Card cartridge and is apart of the subscription. I sized the card to 10.49 x 6.81to make a 5x7 card.

I cut the main card in white and I duplicated the back panel and cut one piece in vellum and one in white. I then cut the Just Married out of silver foiled paper.

After the pieces were cut, I saved all the small pieces and put them aside.

I then took the vellum piece and "watercolored" it with Copic markers. I saw this on Carissa Wiley's You tube page. (she's awesome) Here's the colors I used.
You do this by placing the colors down and spraying it with rubbing alcohol. I used Ranger's alcohol blending solution to see if it would work and it did.

I dried this with my heat tool and assembled my card together. I used some liquid glue in small dots and put the vellum piece behind the detailed cut piece and then the white extra piece.I then fit in the Just Married in the silver foil paper and put all the white pieces back into place. I added a crystal for the top of the "i" in married and Pretty Pink Posh sequins in Lemon Meringue. I glittered some of the flowers and stems with the new Spectrim Noir crystal clear sparkle pen to finish the front.
